Tabs and Smart Phones meet the 'PHABLET' mania

The 'PHABLET' phenomenon is taking the world into a different universe. Manufacturers at the world's biggest mobile fair  at Barcelona, Spain, released a slew of  out sized smartphones that can be barely fitted in once hand and the tabs that have shrunk dramatically.
Further blurring the lines between smartphone and tablet, a section of latest tablets can be used to as phones, albeit somewhat awkwardly.
At the February from 25th till 28th World Mobile Congress, the Ascent Mate by the Chinese manufacturer Huawei, the world's 3rd top smartphone manufacturer, was the champion with the vast 6" touch screen.
Not far behind the smart phone screen real estate contest, rival Chinese handset maker ZTE released its Grand Memo boasting a 5.7" touch screen display. Whereas LG, the South Korean giant launched its Optimus Pro, at 5.5".
"It's a growing trend, especially in Asia , & a lot of these phones are favoured by ladies. They who don't have to worry putting it into their pocket, they carry them in their purses,"said Ken Hong, the Communications Director of LG.
More than 120 million tablets were sold world wide in 2012, up to 50% from the previous year & shipments of smartphones are predicted to hit 1 billion by this year according to the global consultants Deloitte.
But the size of the tabs are shrinking, The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, released just ahead of the congress, trimmed its screen to 8" to compete with their rival Apple iPad mini.
Taiwan's Asus has managed to marry the 2 devices. They showed off the Padfone Infinity, a 5" high definition touch screen smart phone that can harness the latest super fast 4G wireless network connection & which slops into 10.1" tablet.
The smart phones of 2013 have to be fast. The 4G network or also known as the LTE network, Long Term Evolution is being expanding world wide.
The Chinese ell phone manufacturer also unveild their another flagship smart phone, the Ascent P2 which they claims is the fastest SP in the world. Sharp cornered & thinner than a pencil at just 8,4mm, the Ascent P2 can achieve speeds of 150 Mbps, fast enough to download a 2hr movie in just 5 minutes.
The mobile, which hs a more modest 4.7" display which is powered by a 1.5 GHz Quad Core processor & is able to use LTE networks.
The Chinese manufacturer Huawei won 5.3% of the market in 2012.
That is still well behind mobile giants Samsung & Apple which held more than 50% of the sales combined ( 29.0%for Samsung & 22.1% for their rival Apple ).
If one can't be the biggest, smallest of fastest, then there is another way to be inside the hearts of the mobile phone consumers.
Finnish, manufacturer Nokia, who was once the leader of the mobile world, tried to lure consumers with cheaper prices. They released two Windows Phones, the Lumia 520 & the 720 - to be offered with pre-tax price tags of $189 and 249 euro respectively. But Nokia also offered 105, the mobile handset which people use mostly for making just calls. the price of the devise is just 15 euro !!!.
